Presentation on experiences and lessons gleaned from the Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies in Oslo, Norway, December 2025.

New Hampshire Peace Action’s Peace and Justice Conversations program invited Joseph Gerson to share his experiences in and lessons taken from the Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies in Oslo, Norway, this past December. Joseph, who has worked with Nihon Hidankyo, the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize recipient organization for forty years, was a member of the delegation and has prepared an illustrated report.

This year’s Nobel Peace Prize wisely refocused world attention on the urgency of renewing nuclear disarmament diplomacy. The Hibakusha (A-bomb witness/survivors) of Nihon Hidankyo have been among the world’s most courageous and steadfast advocates of nuclear disarmament. Joseph Gerson joined Nihon Hidankyo’s Nobel Peace Prize delegation in Oslo, Norway in December. He will talk with us about lessons he’s taken away from the experience at a time when humanity facing the greatest danger of nuclear war since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.
