Phyllis Bennis directs the New Internationalism Project at the Institute for Policy Studies, focusing on Middle East, U.S. wars and UN issues. She is also a fellow of the Transnational Institute in Amsterdam. Her books include Challenging Empire: How People, Governments and the UN Defy U.S. Power.
Reiner Braun is former executive director and president of the International Peace Bureau. He has began in the peace movement in 1982 working on the Krefeld Appeal against nuclear weapons. He is a founding member of the International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility (INES) and served as executive director of the German section of the International Association of Lawyers against Nuclear Arms. He is recently returned from Moscow, where he met with members of the Russian elite and war opponents.
