Those of us in the United States who have opposed our government’s wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq are familiar with what the Russian people are experiencing today. And we salute them and send our support and solidarity through our public statement. Please sign and send the statement to your friends and colleagues so that they will do the same.
SOLIDARITY STATEMENT:
WE URGE AN END TO THE WAR AND NEGOTIATIONS LEADING TO A JUST PEACE INCLUDING RESPECT FOR UKRAINIAN SOVEREIGNTY AS A NEUTRAL STATE.

Why is this important?
More than 500,000 (CNN 10/9/22) Russian men have left their country in order not to participate in Putin’s illegal, immoral and inhumane war in Ukraine, and that number continues to grow. They have left families, homes and jobs and may never be able to return. In addition, across Russia there are ongoing public and peaceful demonstrations to oppose the war often met by state violence, arrest and injury.
How it will be delivered
Fortunately, we are in touch with activists who have left Russia as well as people inside the country who are protesting the war. Our statement and signatures will be made available with the help of these courageous people and as well as via the media.
