On the evening of Nov. 29, during the 2nd Meeting of States Parties to the TPNW CPDCS and partner organizations held a very successful (great speakers and packed hall) international forum on the Urgency of Disarmament. We have several speech texts in hand, which you will find here, while others are being transcribed. Co-sponsors included the International Peace Bureau, Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung New York Office, Peace Action New York State, and Brooklyn for Peace. Unfortunately, Setsuko Thurlow, who received the Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of ICAN fell ill before the forum, but the text that she prepared in advance is included here. Work for a nuclear weapons-free, peaceful, just, and environmentally sustainable world!
